Becoming part of Gateway is more than attending. Partnership is your next step after baptism. It is choosing to belong, to commit to the church family, to grow with us, to serve with us, and to share in what God is doing here.
Why Partnership Matters
We’re not meant to follow Jesus alone. Time and time again, the Bible points us toward community: encouraging one another, serving one another, and walking together in love. When you become a Partner, you’re saying yes to that kind of life: committed to Jesus, committed to His people, and committed to His Church.
What It Means To Be A Partner
The Bible describes the Church in different ways:
As a body – where each person plays an important part.
As a temple – where together we are God’s dwelling place.
As a family – where we love and care for one another.
What Partners Commit To
Being a Partner at Gateway isn’t about ticking boxes; it’s about living out your faith in community. You’re saying yes to following Jesus wholeheartedly, loving and caring for others in the church, using your gifts to serve, and giving generously as God leads.
You’re also committing to support the leadership, protect the unity of the church, and stay spiritually connected by regularly attending Sunday services and being part of either a Prayer Meeting or Small Group.
It’s not about perfection it’s about being planted, growing, and walking together as we build God’s Church.
Who Can Become A Partner?
Partnership is open to anyone who:
Has put their faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour
You’ve made a personal decision to follow Jesus and trust in Him.
Has been baptised in water (or is planning to be soon)
You’ve taken, or are ready to take, the next step of faith through baptism.
Has been filled with the Holy Spirit (or is open and seeking to be)
You’re living a Spirit-filled life or desiring more of God’s presence.
Supports the leadership and vision of the church
You’re behind the direction we’re going and want to help build it.
Agrees with our beliefs and biblical values
You’re in alignment with what we teach and stand for as a church.
Has been attending Gateway for at least 6 weeks
This gives time for you to get to know us and for us to get to know you.
Regularly attends Sundays and a Prayer Meeting or Small Group
You’re committed to growing spiritually and staying connected in community.
(We understand life happens. There’s grace for illness, work, university or family situations.)
Is committed to being planted in one local church
Partnership means being committed to Gateway as your home church. We grow best when we’re planted in one place, not split between churches.
Is 18 years old or over
Partnership is open to adults who are ready to commit.

- Attend Homecomers Coffee – Hear about the heart and vision of Gateway and share your story with us.
- Be Welcomed – We’ll celebrate and welcome you into the family during a Sunday gathering.

Belonging is not the finish line. It is the place where you begin to grow, contribute, and make a difference. Every disciple is called to take further steps, and the next step is to serve others with the gifts God has given you.
