How To Become A Christian

Following Jesus starts with three simple but life-changing steps: Admit, Believe, Commit.

  • Admit

The first step is being real with God. The Bible says that we have all sinned. Every one of us has chosen our own way, done wrong, and fallen short of God’s holy standard. Sin separates us from Him, and no amount of good works or effort can put things right. That is why we need a Saviour. Admitting your sin is not about living in guilt, it is about facing the truth. When we come to God with honesty and humility, He meets us with mercy and opens the way for forgiveness and a brand new start.

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.” (Romans 3:23, NLT)

  • Believe

The next step is to believe in Jesus Christ. God has provided the answer to our sin through His Son. Jesus came into the world, lived a perfect life, and gave Himself on the cross to pay the price for our sins. On the third day He rose again, defeating death and opening the way to eternal life. Believing in Jesus is more than agreeing with the facts about Him. It is trusting that His death and resurrection were for you, and placing your faith in Him as the only one who can save.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NLT)

  • Commit

The final step is to commit your life to Jesus. This means turning from sin, surrendering your will, and choosing to follow Him as Lord and Saviour. Commitment is not just a moment, it is the beginning of a new life where Jesus leads and you walk in His ways. When you give your life to Him, He fills you with His Spirit, gives you strength for today, and secures your hope for the future. One day Jesus will return, and all who belong to Him will share eternal life with Him forever.

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9, NLT)
