When you serve on a team at Gateway, you play a vital role in helping lead people to Jesus. Whether it’s welcoming guests, making coffee, setting up for events, working behind the scenes, or serving in outreach, every role matters. There’s a place for you—and we’d love to help you find it.
Why Join A Team?
Serving is one of the best ways to grow in your faith, build real friendships, and make a difference in other people’s lives. It’s not just about filling a spot on a rota — it’s about being part of what God is doing through His Church.
The Bible says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace” (1 Peter 4:10, NLT). That means every role matters — from welcoming people at the door to helping behind the scenes — and everyone has something to bring.
You don’t need loads of experience or to have it all figured out. If you’re willing, we’ll help you find the right place to get involved and support you every step of the way.
Team Expectations
Serving on a team is a joy and a responsibility. It’s more than just helping out — it’s about building God’s house together and leading by example. That’s why we ask everyone who serves to be walking closely with Jesus and committed to the life of the church. These are some of our expectations:
Given Your Life to Jesus
You’ve personally responded to the Gospel and are following Him.
Baptised in Water
Or signed up to be baptised soon.
A Partner of Gateway
Or in the process of becoming one.
Filled with the Holy Spirit
Or actively seeking to be.
Committed to Church Life
Regularly attending Sundays and midweek gatherings where possible.

View the teams below and register your interest by completing the form or speak to us in person at our Sunday service.
Receive Role Description
Once you’ve signed up, we’ll send you a short description of the team you’ve registered interest in, including the responsibilities and expectations, so you can see what’s involved.
Meet With The Ministry Leader
You’ll have a friendly chat with the ministry leader to discuss the role, ask any questions, and see together if it’s a good fit.
Training & DBS Check
Before you start, some teams may require a simple DBS check. We’ll also provide basic training so you feel confident and equipped.
Start Serving
Once everything is in place, you’re ready to join the team and make a difference!
Ongoing Support & Training
We’re here to help you grow. After your first month, your ministry leader will check in for a quick review to see how things are going. You’ll also receive regular support, encouragement, and opportunities to be equipped further as you serve.
